History
Brazil's national cocktail muddles cachaça with lime and sugar. Its roots are often traced to an early-20th-century folk remedy of cachaça, lime, garlic and honey used during the Spanish-flu era in the countryside, which was gradually simplified into the bright, rustic drink served everywhere in Brazil today.
