History
The modern Cosmopolitan is generally credited to Toby Cecchini, who in 1988 refined an earlier West Coast version (often attributed to Cheryl Cook in Miami) at the Odeon in New York. Its vodka, triple sec, cranberry and lime found global fame in the 1990s and through the TV series Sex and the City.
