History
The Bloody Mary is generally credited to bartender Fernand 'Pete' Petiot at Harry's New York Bar in Paris in the early 1920s. When Petiot moved to the St. Regis Hotel in New York, the name was briefly genteelized to the 'Red Snapper,' but the vodka-and-spiced-tomato original endured as the definitive brunch and hangover cure.
