History
The Long Island Iced Tea is generally credited to Robert 'Rosebud' Butt, who said he created it in 1972 at the Oak Beach Inn on Long Island, New York. Its mix of vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec and a splash of cola mimics the look of iced tea while delivering a formidable punch (a competing claim places an earlier version in Prohibition-era Tennessee).
