History
The Income Tax cocktail is a Bronx with a dash of bitters — gin, both vermouths, orange juice and bitters — dating to the 1920s and 30s. It appears in the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book, its wry name reflecting the era's new fiscal anxieties.
