History
The Moscow Mule was created in 1941 in Los Angeles through a partnership between John G. Martin, who owned the struggling Smirnoff vodka brand, and Jack Morgan of the Cock 'n' Bull pub, who made ginger beer. Served in a distinctive copper mug, the drink and its marketing push were instrumental in launching vodka's popularity in America.
