Turf Cocktail
A gin martini variation with maraschino and absinthe from the late 19th century.

Ingredients
- Gin1.5 oz (45 ml)
- Dry Vermouth1.5 oz (45 ml)
- Maraschino Liqueur1 dash
- Absinthe1 dash
- Orange Bitters1 dash
How to make it
- Stir all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a coupe.

History
The Turf Cocktail is an old gin-and-dry-vermouth drink accented with maraschino, absinthe and bitters, dating to around 1900. A close relative of the Martini and Tuxedo, it appears in early bartending manuals of the era.
