History
The spritz tradition traces to the Veneto under 19th-century Austrian rule, when soldiers 'spritzed' the local wine with water. The Aperol version — Aperol (created in Padua in 1919), Prosecco and soda — was promoted heavily by its owner Campari from the 1990s onward and became a global symbol of Italian aperitivo culture.
