History
The Hugo was created in 2005 by bartender Roland Gruber in South Tyrol, in Italy's German-speaking north. Built from elderflower syrup, Prosecco, soda and mint, it was conceived as a lighter, floral alternative to the Aperol Spritz and has since spread across the Alps and beyond.
