- Shake all ingredients with ice.

History
The Gimlet — gin and lime cordial — is closely tied to the British Royal Navy, where lime juice was issued to ward off scurvy and Rose's Lime Cordial made it palatable. Its name may honor Surgeon Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Gimlette or simply refer to the small tool used to tap casks; both stories circulate.
