A bitter, aquatic cocktail with aquavit and sherry.

Ingredients
- Aquavit1 oz (30 ml)
- Sherry1 oz (30 ml)
- Cynar1 oz (30 ml)
- Peach Bitters2 dashes
How to make it
- Stir all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a coupe.

History
The Trident was created by Robert Hess in 2002 as a sherry-based riff on the Negroni, swapping in aquavit for gin, Cynar for Campari and dry sherry for sweet vermouth. It became an influential early example of the modern low-proof, amaro-driven cocktail.
