History
The White Russian is a Black Russian — vodka and coffee liqueur, created in Brussels around 1949 — softened with a layer of cream. Long a mid-century lounge drink, it was vaulted to cult status by the 1998 film The Big Lebowski, whose hero 'the Dude' drinks them throughout.
