History
A product of American Prohibition, the Bee's Knees is a gin sour sweetened with honey, the honey and lemon helping to mask the harshness of bootleg 'bathtub' gin. Its name is 1920s slang for excellence — 'the bee's knees' — and it remains a benchmark of the era's homespun ingenuity.
