History

Created in 1937 by British bartender C. A. Tuck and first printed in the Café Royal Cocktail Book that same year, the 20th Century was named after the 20th Century Limited, the luxury express train that ran between New York and Chicago. Its blend of gin, Lillet Blanc, lemon and white crème de cacao gives a faint chocolate note meant to evoke the train's Art Deco glamour. Long overlooked, it was rediscovered by the modern cocktail revival in the 2000s and is now considered a sophisticated classic.
