History
La Louisiane was the house cocktail of Restaurant de la Louisiane in New Orleans in the early 20th century. A cousin of the Vieux Carré, it combines rye, sweet vermouth and Bénédictine with a wash of absinthe — a rich expression of the city's Creole drinking tradition.
