History
The Singapore Sling was created around 1915 by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon at the Long Bar of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. A gin sling laced with cherry liqueur, Bénédictine, citrus and pineapple, its pink hue allowed colonial-era women to drink it discreetly in public, and it became one of the world's most famous hotel cocktails.
