History

The Vesper was invented by Ian Fleming for James Bond in his 1953 novel Casino Royale. Bond orders a drink of gin, vodka and Kina Lillet, 'shaken, not stirred,' then names it for the double agent Vesper Lynd. Fleming's literary creation became one of the few cocktails to enter the canon straight from fiction.
