History
The Monkey Gland was created by Harry MacElhone in 1920s Paris — gin, orange juice, grenadine and absinthe. Its startling name refers to the then-notorious 'rejuvenation' surgeries of Dr. Serge Voronoff, who grafted monkey-gland tissue onto patients in a bid to restore their youth.
