Ingredients
- Rum1 oz (30 ml)
- Brandy1 oz (30 ml)
- Egg1
- Simple Syrup0.5 oz (15 ml)
- Hot Milk4 oz (120 ml)
How to make it
- Whip eggs with sugar.
- Add to mug.
- Add spirits and hot milk.

History
The Tom and Jerry is a warm holiday punch of beaten eggs, sugar, spice, rum and brandy, served hot in a special bowl and mugs. Jerry Thomas claimed to have invented it and featured it prominently in his 1862 guide, and it became a beloved fixture of American Christmas tradition.
